Eleanor Roosevelt and Frozen 2 – What do they have in common?

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”  – Eleanor Roosevelt

I’m going to be totally honest here, the first thing I thought about when I read this quote was a conversation that I just had with my 5-year old when she was watching Frozen 2. In the movie, (no spoilers, I promise!) a character is sad because she feels that all hope is lost and does not know what to do. She has to find courage within herself to keep moving on.

This idea was foreign to my daughter because she has not experienced that sort of grief. Have you ever experienced something that was so difficult that you really had to gather courage to face it and to move forward? I went through a painful divorce that led to being a single parent with unanticipated debt. What is something that you have encountered?

One year ago, I attended a 6-week mastermind group that covered John C. Maxwell’s book “The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth.” In this group, I met some amazing ladies that had also been through divorce (the facilitator had arranged that intentionally). As we learned and discussed our way through the book, I was amazed at the growth we all had in the process. This is one of the reasons that I wanted to join the John Maxwell Team. I learned that I had a passion for helping others and I saw that the benefit the program provided. Have you identified your passions?

If you are interested in joining one of the online or in-person groups that I am facilitating in the future, please reach out!
