Selfless Love

Good morning, parent leaders!

One of my favorite books when I was a child was “Matilda” by Roald Dahl. While the tale was imaginative and supernatural in parts, there is a practical lesson that we can pull from the story. Even the awful Ms. Trunchbull noticed how so many parents love their children no matter how gross she thought they were.

Parents have a selfless love that allows them to see past any temporary misbehavior to the soul of their child. They have the ability to love them and encourage them in the hard times, because they know that the reassurance and affirmation is what will help that child grow into the healthy, mature adult that they are destined to become.

We are all planted with seeds of greatness, and love is the magic ingredient that helps us grow.
